Exciting Week Ahead: Sports Highlights & Schedule Updates

It is an exciting time here at Hill-Murray! Our boys soccer team is gearing up for the State Semifinal Game November 1, our football team is set to host Chisago Lakes in the Section Championship game November 3, and we have two cross country runners heading to the Class AA Cross Country State Championship November 4! Please take note of some important schedule updates for this week, including the early dismissal for the Soccer Semifinal game and Holy Day of Obligation on November 1. This information can also be found here in the email sent Friday, October 27 to all parents.

Wednesday, November 1, 2023

Wednesday, November 1 is All Saints Day. It is one of the three Wednesdays that we will NOT have a late start. We will be having an all-school mass to observe the Holy Day of Obligation. School will start at 7:55 AM.

The Hill-Murray Boys Soccer team will be playing in the semifinal game of the Minnesota State Soccer Tournament at US Bank Stadium on Wednesday, November 1. The game is scheduled at 2:30 PM. We will be dismissing students at 1:20 PM to allow students to attend the game. All students will be served lunch at school as usual. We will also have supervision and the game available to watch via livestream at Hill-Murray with a regular dismissal time for students. Please look over the following three options and choose what is right for your child.

OPTION #1:
My student will leave at the dismissal time at 1:20 PM.  If they choose to go to the game, they will have their own transportation.  No permission needed for this option.

OPTION #2
My student will ride a fan bus.  The buses will leave Hill-Murray promptly after school is dismissed for the US Bank Stadium and will leave the stadium following the game.  This game is likely to start late, thus resulting in a later return to school.  Please note students will be required to ride the bus both ways.  CLICK HERE for a permission form for this option.

OPTION #3
My student will remain at Hill-Murray after school is dismissed.  The game will be streamed for students to watch.  After school busing will be at the usual times and supervision will end at 3:30 PM.  CLICK HERE for a permission form for this option.

Students will need to purchase their own ticket to the game.  Tickets can be purchased HERE. Ticket prices are $14.00 for adults and $9.00 for students.

Depending on the outcome of the soccer game the Pioneers will play on the following dates:

  • If we win on Wednesday, we play Friday, November 3 at 12:30 PM at US Bank stadium. Modified schedule will be sent out Thursday morning.
  • If we lose we play Thursday, November, 2 at 11:30 AM at West St. Paul regional athletic center. This would be a regular school day schedule.

Congratulations to the Football team on their Section Semifinal WIN! Come cheer them on as they host Chisago Lakes in the Section Semifinal game Friday, November 3 at 7:00 PM at Hill-Murray School.

Students will need to purchase their own ticket to the game.  Tickets can be purchased HERE. Ticket prices are $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for students.

Congratulations to Olivia Braunshausen, our Cross Country Section 4AA Champion, and Calista Berkley, who secured a remarkable third place overall in the Section Meet! Both of these talented athletes will be representing Hill-Murray School at the Class AA Cross Country State Championship Meet on November 4th at the Les Bolstad Golf Course at the University of Minnesota.

Now Accepting 2024-25 Admission Applications

We are accepting applications for the 2024-25 academic year! We have moved over to a new rolling-admissions process for the 2024-25 school year. We believe that you should not have to wait for a date on the calendar to make one of the most important decisions that you and your student may choose regarding their education.

Although there is no “deadline” for applications, we encourage you, DO NOT WAIT to submit an application! While we would love to welcome every student into our halls, we are committed to maintaining healthy and manageable class sizes that are optimal for every student to thrive at Hill-Murray. We had a wait pool for the 2023-24 school year, and anticipate the same for the 2024-25 school year as well. It is a great time to be a Pioneer!

There is so much strength in our community – you are our best advocates! Please share this link with your friends, family and anyone you think would be a great addition to the Hill-Murray family.

Please contact Krissy Pohl at kpohl@hill-murray.org (Middle School) or Emily Sharockman at esharockman@hill-murray.org (High School) in Admissions with questions.

* Please note, this is for NEW students interested in attending next fall.

Now Accepting 2024-25 Scholarship Applications

Hill-Murray scholarship applications are now available for the 2024-25 academic year. All scholarship information can be found online this year under the Tuition Assistance tab on the main page of our Hill-Murray website.

Scholarships are broken down into Need-Based and Non-Need Based Scholarships. Those families who complete the TADS application for financial assistance will automatically be considered for the Need-Based Scholarships. The TADS application is the only application to fill out for these scholarships. However, if a student is chosen for one of these scholarships, they will need to submit an essay, thank you note, and student profile information to accept and receive the award.

Regardless of whether or not they fill out the TADS application, any student can apply for the Non-Need Based Scholarships. The scholarship application can be found and completed online under the Tuition Assistance tab.

Completed applications are due by Friday, November 17, 2023. This is much earlier than in past years. Don’t delay! Get started on your application today!

If you have any questions about this process, please contact Denise Bates at dbates@hill-murray.org.
