Girls Hockey Faces Gentry Academy (Again) in Section Final

Junior goalie Grace Zahn recorded her 10th shutout of the season in Hill-Murray’s 5-0 Section4AA semifinal win over Eastridge.

For the second straight year, the Hill-Murray Girls hockey team must defeat Gentry Academy to reach the State Tournament.

The two teams face-off Thursday, Feb. 16 at 7 pm at Aldrich Arena in the Section 4AA Final. Buy tickets here.

Last February, Gentry Academy defeated Hill-Murray 5-4 in double overtime, ending the Pioneer’s season one game short of making it all the way to state.

Hill-Murray junior goaltender Grace Zahn, a Dartmouth commit, remembers that game very well and is excited about the opportunity to play the Stars again. Hill-Murray is the top seed in the Section 4AA while Gentry is seeded second.

“This is our chance to prove we deserve the number one seed, ” said Zahn, who recorded her 10th shutout of the season in the Pioneers 5-0 Section 4AA semifinal win over Eastridge. “We’re very excited.”

Hill-Murray spread out the scoring against Eastridge as sophomore Kasey Senden, senior Shea Stinnett, junior Chloe Boreen, sophomore Regan Berglund and senior Ellah Hause each scored a goal.

The Minnesota State High School Girls Hockey Tournament will take place Feb. 22-25 at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, MN.
